The approach
Independence, offered on purpose
Toddlers serve their own food, carry their own plates, wash their own hands and pull on their own hats. It takes longer and it makes more mess, and it's exactly how a child comes to believe they're capable.
Language explodes at this age, so our educators narrate, question and wait. The waiting is the skill, giving a child the four seconds they need to find the word themselves.
Big feelings are expected here. We don't punish them; we help children build the vocabulary and strategies to move through them.

Our yards are set up for climbing, digging, balancing, carrying and running, because gross motor development at this age isn't a break from learning, it is the learning.
Toddlers also join age-appropriate outdoor excursions, building the confidence that turns into full Bush Kinder and Beach Kinder participation later.
